Two Imposters Arrested for Posing as Intelligence Officers and Scamming Senate Officials

Islamabad authorities have arrested two fraudsters, Shegan Jamshed and Jamshed Khan, for impersonating officers of Pakistan’s intelligence agencies and blackmailing Senate officials. The suspects admitted to extorting influential individuals and deceiving citizens by falsely offering government jobs.

According to reports, the duo was running a fraudulent scheme, promising Senate job appointments in exchange for money. A senior Senate officer filed a complaint, leading to a case being registered at the Secretariat police station.

Investigation and Findings

Inquiry Officer Muhammad Akbar’s investigation revealed that Shegan Jamshed, the son of a retired major, not only scammed government officials but also secured a Senate job for a female acquaintance through deceit.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has officially arrested the suspects, linking them to a multi-million rupee fraud case. Shegan Jamshed reportedly used a fake Senate Secretariat agency card to manipulate officials and carry out personal tasks.

Seized Items

During the raid, FIA officials recovered:

  • Six mobile phones
  • Two laptops
  • A hard drive and DVR
  • An internet device
  • Fake documents related to multiple ministries
  • Photographs of the accused in army uniforms

Authorities also discovered that the suspects were involved in scamming citizens by falsely promising to clear customs shipments.
