WhatsApp is taking on Google Calendar by introducing a new event scheduling feature in one-on-one chats. Previously, the event feature was exclusive to group chats and communities, but now WhatsApp has begun rolling it out to select beta testers on the latest WhatsApp beta version from the Google Play Store.
What Does the Event Feature Do?
The new feature allows users to schedule and manage events directly within their chats, eliminating the need for external calendar apps. For example, if two colleagues share a deadline, they can easily create an event in their WhatsApp chat, and both will receive reminders simultaneously. WhatsApp also allows users to link events to video or voice calls, simplifying the process of setting up meetings. Once an event is created, the invited recipient can accept or decline the invitation, making scheduling more efficient without relying on third-party apps like Google Calendar.

Availability
As with other WhatsApp beta features, this rollout will take time and may take weeks or even months before it exits beta and becomes available to all users. However, with testing underway, it’s only a matter of time before this feature becomes accessible globally.
Be sure to keep your WhatsApp updated to stay on top of the latest features.
