The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) Dubai has launched ‘Salama,’ an AI-driven platform aimed at enhancing efficiency in government services. The announcement was made at the Fourth Annual Media Council, themed “Media Vision Shaping the Future.” The event was attended by Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA Dubai, along with senior officials and media figures.
Introducing ‘Salama’
‘Salama’ is designed to streamline residency services, enabling users to complete transactions, make payments, and process visa applications without traditional paperwork. This initiative aligns with UAE Vision 2071 and Dubai’s Digital Transformation Strategy.

Lieutenant General Al Marri emphasized the role of AI and digital transformation in enhancing government efficiency.
“Digital transformation goes beyond building services; it is about redefining customer experiences, enhancing government performance, and fulfilling our leadership’s vision,” he stated.

Currently available for individuals, ‘Salama’ allows users to:

Future updates will extend the platform’s capabilities to corporate users.

Colonel Khalid bin Madia Al Falasi, Assistant Director General of Digital Services Affairs at GDRFA Dubai, described Salama as a major innovation in AI-powered government services.

The platform is accessible via smart channels and UAE Pass. During a live demo, a residency permit was successfully renewed in just a few seconds.
