Meta-owned instant messaging app WhatsApp continues to expand its feature set, introducing new tools to enhance user experience. Among the latest additions is the motion pictures feature, allowing users to share animated photos in chats, groups, and channels.

The new motion picture feature, first spotted in the beta version of WhatsApp for Android (2.25.8.12), is now rolling out to beta testers via the Google Play Store.

How Motion Pictures Work?

Motion photos capture a few seconds of movement before and after a still image is taken, blending short video and audio clips into a single animated photo. This feature adds a dynamic touch to static images, making them come alive with engaging animations.
