The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has sealed a warehouse belonging to a prominent food chain on Kallar Road, Rawat, due to violations of land use and construction regulations, according to an official press release issued on Monday.

This action is part of RDA’s broader crackdown aimed at enforcing zoning laws and regulatory standards citywide. The warehouse was reportedly operating without the necessary approvals or legal clearances, making it non-compliant with zoning requirements.

RDA Director General Kinza Murtaza reiterated the authority’s commitment to legal and orderly urban development, emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy toward unauthorized commercial activities and illegal constructions.

“We strongly urge all commercial entities to adhere to legal protocols and obtain proper approvals before starting operations,” she said.

This enforcement drive aligns with the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, who has called for rigorous action against encroachments and illegal developments to ensure sustainable urban planning.

The RDA also appealed to the public to support its efforts in preserving public spaces, reducing congestion, and creating a safer, more accessible urban environment across Rawalpindi.
