This announcement comes during a volatile situation along the Line of Control (LoC), where military confrontations have intensified following Indian strikes on various locations within Pakistan. The strikes were reportedly in retaliation for the deaths of over two dozen tourists in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), an incident India has blamed on Pakistan — a claim Islamabad has firmly denied.

In response to what Pakistan described as unprovoked aggression and violations of its airspace, the Pakistan Army reportedly shot down five Indian fighter jets and one combat drone.

Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry confirmed on Wednesday that 26 civilians were martyred and 46 others injured due to overnight Indian airstrikes targeting multiple civilian areas inside Pakistan.

Additionally, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz declared a state of emergency across the province and ordered the closure of all educational institutions following a wave of Indian missile strikes on civilian areas. These attacks triggered a rapid military response from Pakistan.
