The Pakistani rupee (PKR) ended its six-day losing streak on Monday, closing stronger against the US Dollar (USD).
Throughout most of the day, the interbank rate hovered between 281 and 282/$ before settling at 281. Open market rates remained steady at around 283. The PKR appreciated by 13 paisas or 0.05 percent on a day-on-day (DoD) basis, closing at 281.56 against the USD. However, on a fiscal year-to-date (FYTD) basis, the currency remains down by 1.16 percent.

In the interbank market, the rupee also posted gains against several other major currencies. It rose by three paisas each against the UAE Dirham (AED) and Saudi Riyal (SAR), and appreciated by 94 paisas against the Canadian Dollar (CAD). The PKR remained stable against the Australian Dollar (AUD), while making notable gains of Rs. 4.19 against the Euro (EUR) and Rs. 2.59 against the British Pound (GBP).
