The Punjab government has officially declared summer vacations for both public and private schools and colleges, starting from June 1 and continuing until August 9, 2025, as confirmed by Punjab Secretary Schools Education, Khalid Nazir Wattoo, via 24NewsHD TV.
Wattoo noted that the schedule could be adjusted if temperatures continue to rise. “If the heat becomes extreme, vacations may commence a week earlier,” he stated, emphasizing that the health and safety of students and staff are the department’s top priority.

The Schools Education Department has completed all necessary preparations for the break. This announcement comes as climate change and prolonged heatwaves increasingly affect health, education, and the economy.
Meanwhile, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued precautionary instructions for schools to follow before closure, including enhancing ventilation, ensuring fans and cooling systems are operational, and setting up first-aid counters with trained staff to manage heat-related health issues.
