The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has intensified its enforcement drive against unauthorized commercial properties and illegal housing schemes in its jurisdiction, sealing 95 properties and demolishing unapproved structures.

The LDA Town Planning Wing launched sweeping operations across several key areas including Gulberg, New Garden Town, Shadman, Shah Jamal, New Muslim Town, UBD Canal Road, and Sabzazar. A total of 95 properties were sealed for violations such as illegal commercial use and failure to pay commercial conversion fees. Specifically, 28 properties were sealed in Gulberg and New Garden Town, 35 in Shadman, Shah Jamal, and UBD Canal Road, and 32 in Sabzazar as part of a revenue recovery campaign.

The sealed establishments included private schools, clinics, bakeries, shops, restaurants, workshops, grocery stores, and offices. The operation was led by Chief Town Planner Asad Uz Zaman.

Simultaneously, the Directorate of Metropolitan Planning (Zone IV) executed a large-scale operation targeting illegal housing schemes on Main Ferozepur Road, Ahlu Road, and Al-Jannat Road. Action was taken against 14 unauthorized schemes, such as Grand Avenue, Sun City, Rehan Garden, Shahzad Garden Villas, Bao Munir Town, Ahmed City, and Al-Jannat Homes.

LDA teams demolished illegal roads, sewer systems, boundary walls, and other unapproved infrastructure, and sealed site offices of the illegal projects. Other areas affected included New Abadi Shahzada Village, Nai Abadi Ahlu Jhuggian, Rizwan Garden, Malkan Wali Haveli, Waseem Colony, and Green Valley.

The operations were overseen by the Chief Metropolitan Planner, with support from the LDA Enforcement Squad and Punjab Police.
