Pakistan has revealed a compact yet promising squad for the 2025 Asian Athletics Championships, scheduled to take place in Gumi, South Korea, from May 27 to 31.

Olympic gold medallist Arshad Nadeem headlines the five-member team, returning to the javelin throw arena alongside Yasir Sultan, a rising talent in the same event. Arshad, also a Commonwealth Games champion, is expected to lead Pakistan’s medal charge.

In the track category, Shajar Abbas and Mueed Baloch will represent the country in the 400m sprints, while Tameen Khan will compete in the women’s 100m sprint. Shajar, known as Pakistan’s fastest man, has been on an upward trajectory and aims to break into Asia’s sprinting elite.

With top athletes from across Asia set to compete, all eyes will be on Arshad Nadeem’s performance and whether Pakistan’s young sprinting talents can rise to the occasion and challenge for podium finishes.
