Pakistan has made remarkable strides in narrowing the digital gender gap, according to the GSMA Mobile Gender Gap Report 2025. The report shows Pakistan achieved the most significant global reduction in the mobile internet gender gap—dropping from 38% in 2023 to 25% in 2024 among 80 countries.

This progress was driven by a surge in mobile internet adoption, especially among rural women, with 8 million women and 5 million men starting to use mobile internet services in 2024. The achievement is credited to coordinated efforts from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), Cellular Mobile Operators under the GSMA Connected Women Commitment, and implementation partners.
