Following the Pahalgam incident and subsequent military escalation between Pakistan and India, a new wave of national unity has emerged across Pakistan. Recent survey findings highlight a sharp rise in public confidence in both the military and political leadership after the country’s robust response to Indian aggression.
According to a Gallup Pakistan survey titled “Public Opinion after India-Pakistan Ceasefire: Comprehensive Analysis,” an overwhelming 97% of respondents rated the performance of the Pakistan Armed Forces during the conflict—codenamed Operation Bunyan un Marsoos—as either “good” or “very good.” This reflects widespread public approval of the military’s handling of the situation.
The survey further revealed that 96% of participants believed Pakistan emerged victorious in the confrontation with India. Moreover, 73% expressed satisfaction with the government’s overall management of the crisis, particularly in its diplomatic efforts.

Political parties also received a boost in public perception. The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was viewed favorably by 65% of respondents, while Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) were rated positively by 60% and 58% respectively.
In terms of the conflict’s origin, 87% of those surveyed believed that India was the initiator of hostilities, reinforcing a dominant national narrative. The recently agreed ceasefire garnered strong public approval, with 91% supporting the government’s decision to accept the truce. However, only 52% expressed confidence that India would adhere to the agreement in the long term.
These findings signal a renewed sense of patriotism and solidarity in Pakistan, as well as broad-based support for the country’s leadership during a time of heightened regional tensions.
