Following the directives of the high court, the Balochistan Food Authority (BFA) has launched a strict crackdown on the cultivation of vegetables irrigated with untreated sewage water, raising serious concerns about public health.

In the campaign’s initial phase, authorities destroyed acres of vegetable fields along Quetta’s Sabzal Road, where wastewater was being used for irrigation without any treatment.

BFA Chairman stated, “Using sewage water to grow vegetables is strictly against court orders and government regulations. It poses a major threat to public health and will not be tolerated.”
