Is Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge really slimmer than a slice of thin-crust pizza? After weeks of talking about the ultra-slim design of Samsung’s newest phone, it’s time to put that claim to the test — not with specs, but with real-life comparisons. Because let’s face it, what better way to understand just how thin something is than by stacking it up against things you see every day?

The Galaxy S25 Edge measures just 5.8mm in thickness and features a 6.7-inch display, just like its sibling, the S25 Plus. But the Edge is noticeably lighter at 163 grams, compared to the Plus model’s 190 grams. It certainly feels featherlight in the hand — though its $1,100 price tag is anything but.

So how thin is thin, really? Here’s what we found in the name of scientific curiosity (and a bit of fun):

First up: pizza. Using a slice of thin-crust cheese pizza (admittedly not New York-style), the S25 Edge proved to be just about the same thickness — though the phone is obviously more rigid thanks to its titanium frame.

Next, pennies: Stack up about four pennies and you’ll match the thickness of the S25 Edge — not including the camera bump. If you factor that in, it adds up to about seven pennies tall. Thankfully, the dual rear cameras are relatively low-profile and don’t stick out much.

At Mobile World Congress earlier this year, the Tecno Spark Slim wowed audiences with its 5.75mm body — slightly thinner than a pencil. So, naturally, the S25 Edge was put to the same test. It passed — slimmer than a pencil, too.

To round things out, we compared it with a Tate’s thin chocolate chip cookie (in the name of science, not snacking). Verdict? The S25 Edge edges out the cookie in the thinness department as well.

Curious how it stacks up against competitors? When laid side-by-side with the Oppo Find N5 foldable (4.21mm when open), the Edge is still impressively thin — especially considering it’s not a foldable. And compared to its siblings, the S25 Plus (7.3mm) and the standard S25 (7.2mm), the Edge is clearly the slimmest of the bunch.

We’ll have to wait and see if other phone makers join the ultra-thin revolution. Until then, the S25 Edge holds the crown — at least until someone releases a device thinner than a cracker.
