Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan has categorically ruled out any “give-and-take” deal, asserting that any dialogue must solely serve the national interest.
This stance was shared by Senator Ali Zafar after a recent meeting with the incarcerated leader at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, where Khan has been detained since August 2023 on multiple charges, including corruption and terrorism.
“Imran said he is open to negotiations, but only for the unity and greater good of Pakistan,” Zafar told reporters outside the prison. He emphasized that the discussions must be honest, transparent, and devoid of personal agendas. “If I had been seeking personal relief, I would have asked for it long ago,” Zafar quoted Khan as saying.
Khan also reiterated his demand for expeditious and fair legal proceedings in all pending cases against him and other PTI members, accusing authorities of deliberate delays. “All I seek is justice,” he stated.

Recently, Khan instructed his party to begin organizing a major nationwide campaign against the sitting government. Speaking through his sister, Aleema Khan, he said that while he would not summon supporters to Islamabad, the movement would span the entire country. “Start preparing for a mass movement across Pakistan,” Aleema conveyed on his behalf. She added that Khan remains steadfast in his resolve against what he describes as state repression and has vowed to resist all forms of pressure. “Even if he spends his life in prison, he will not yield,” she said.
Meanwhile, PTI Central Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram dismissed rumors of ongoing negotiations with the government, clarifying that no talks are currently underway. “Dialogue doesn’t work this way,” he said during a press conference, emphasizing that Imran Khan himself formed the negotiation committee and that any participation is under his directive.
“You can’t stab someone with hatred and expect reconciliation in return,” Akram concluded, highlighting the party’s firm position on genuine and principled engagement.
