WhatsApp has officially launched its first-ever dedicated app for the iPad, fulfilling long-standing user demand for a native tablet experience. The release comes just a day after a cryptic teaser was posted on WhatsApp’s official X (formerly Twitter) account.

Now Available on the App Store
The WhatsApp iPad app is now live on the App Store and available for download. Until now, iPad users had to rely on workarounds like WhatsApp Web or third-party applications. This new app is designed specifically for iPadOS, bringing a seamless and optimized experience.

Features and Usability
The new iPad app supports nearly all core WhatsApp features. Users can make video and voice calls with up to 32 participants, share screens during calls, and toggle between front and rear cameras with ease.

Additionally, the app integrates fully with iPadOS multitasking features such as Stage Manager, Split View, and Slide Over. Support for accessories like the Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil enhances its usability for power users.

Cross-Device Sync and Privacy
One of the key highlights is the ability to sync messages and media across multiple devices, including iPhones, iPads, Macs, and other linked devices. Conversations remain end-to-end encrypted to ensure user privacy.

WhatsApp has also added the Chat Lock feature, which lets users lock specific chats with biometric authentication or passcodes. This is especially useful for maintaining privacy on shared devices.

This marks a significant step in expanding WhatsApp’s ecosystem and improving the user experience across Apple platforms.
