TikTok resumed normal operations after facing technical difficulties earlier today. The popular video-sharing platform started experiencing problems around 8 AM PKT, according to numerous user reports. Although the service was partially functional, many users encountered issues accessing key features.

Several social media platforms such as Reddit, Twitter, Bluesky, and the monitoring site DownDetector confirmed widespread disruptions. Mobile app users reported being able to watch some videos but had trouble reading comments or switching between accounts, leading some to mistakenly believe they had been banned.

On TikTok’s website and help pages, users saw an error message saying, “An error occurred while processing your request,” along with a reference code. Authentication issues were also common during the outage. Fortunately, the service has since stabilized and is working properly again.

TikTok has not issued any official statement regarding the cause or resolution time of the outage. Service providers like Oracle and Akamai also did not report any problems on their status pages during the incident. Data from DownDetector showed the outage affected regions outside Pakistan more severely, with nearly 44,000 reports from the US, compared to fewer than 100 from Pakistan. Although the US has a significantly larger TikTok user base, the discrepancy highlights varying levels of impact.
