Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra may once again fall short of expectations when it comes to major hardware improvements, according to the latest leaks. Following the pattern of recent Galaxy S-series flagships, the S25 Ultra only offered minor refinements over its predecessor, including more rounded corners, a slight ultrawide camera upgrade, and a new chipset.

Initial rumors had raised hopes that the Galaxy S26 Ultra would feature a major battery boost through the adoption of high-density silicon-carbon battery technology, potentially pushing the capacity beyond 5,500mAh. However, those expectations have been dialed down significantly.

A new leak from X tipster @PandaFlashPro suggests that the S26 Ultra’s battery capacity is still under discussion but is currently estimated to be “under 5,400mAh.” This raises the possibility that Samsung might stick with the same 5,000mAh battery used in previous models. While the S25 Ultra performs reasonably well in battery tests, it still lags behind rivals offering 6,000mAh+ batteries paired with highly efficient chipsets.

Charging speeds appear similarly stagnant. While competitors in the Chinese market now offer 80W+ wired and 50W wireless charging, Samsung remains limited to 25W or 45W wired and just 15W wireless. Rumors of a 65W upgrade for the S26 Ultra have been quashed by the same tipster, although a modest bump—possibly to 50W—remains on the table.

Despite these incremental updates, Samsung is expected to promote the S26 Ultra as its most advanced flagship yet when it launches in Q1 2026. More leaks are anticipated as the release date approaches.
