Finland Opens Temporary Visa Facility in Doha for Pakistani Students
The Finnish authorities have introduced a temporary identification facility in Doha, Qatar for Pakistani students applying for residence permits, offering an alternative to the usual processing center in Abu Dhabi.
From July 9 to August 6, Pakistani applicants can complete biometric verification and identification requirements at VFS Global in Doha. The move aims to ease difficulties faced by Pakistani students who are struggling to travel to the UAE due to current visa and entry regulations.
According to the Embassy of Finland, students already on the waiting list for VFS Abu Dhabi have been automatically shifted to the Doha center. These individuals will be contacted directly with specific instructions.

Students who already have confirmed appointments in Abu Dhabi but wish to switch to Doha must contact the Embassy of Finland in Abu Dhabi by July 11. If appointment slots are available in Doha, the embassy will provide an update and guidance.
The embassy emphasized that Doha appointments cannot be rescheduled due to limited availability and high demand. Students who are unable to attend their Doha appointment will need to rebook for VFS Abu Dhabi.
Once processed, residence permit cards will be delivered to the Finnish Embassy in Abu Dhabi, and students will be notified when the cards are ready for collection or delivery. Applicants must pay the residence permit fee online before visiting the VFS Global center in Doha.
This temporary arrangement reflects Finland’s effort to accommodate Pakistani students during a peak application period.
