Pakistan and U.S. Hold Constructive Talks on Reciprocal Tariffs, Eye Strategic Economic Partnership

On June 24, 2025, at 8:30 PM PST, a virtual meeting was held between Pakistan’s Finance Minister, Muhammad Aurangzeb, and U.S. Commerce Secretary, Howard Lutnick, focusing on reciprocal tariffs and broader economic cooperation.

Both sides expressed satisfaction with the progress of ongoing negotiations and committed to concluding the trade discussions by next week. In addition to the trade agreement, it was mutually agreed that a long-term partnership would be developed, centered on strategic and investment interests across areas of mutual concern.
