PTA and OpenSignal Collaboration: A Major Step Toward Nationwide Network Quality Monitoring
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has initiated a collaboration with OpenSignal, a globally renowned independent network analytics company. The objective of this partnership is to strengthen the monitoring and improvement process of Quality of Service (QoS) and Quality of Experience (QoE) for telecom users across the country.
Through this initiative, accurate, automated, and real-time data on network performance will be provided using a crowdsourcing method based on user experience. This approach is internationally recognized for evaluating network quality across all modern technologies, including fixed broadband and mobile networks (2G, 3G, 4G, 5G, etc.).

OpenSignal’s data-driven analytical reports will assist PTA in assessing and enhancing network performance to ensure the delivery of reliable and high-speed connectivity that meets international (ITU) standards. Under this partnership, PTA will receive continuous and real-time data on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as 4G/5G speeds, latency, coverage gaps, and user experience. This data will support user interest, encourage investment, and guide decision-making regarding network expansion.
This collaboration is part of PTA’s ongoing efforts to provide quality services and promote transparency for telecom users in Pakistan.
