Pakistan and U.S. Reaffirm Trade Partnership, Explore New Avenues for Economic Cooperation

Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, led a Pakistani delegation in Washington, D.C. for a productive meeting with U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick and U.S. Trade Representative Ambassador Jamieson Greer.

During the high-level discussions, both parties expressed satisfaction with the progress made in strengthening trade and economic relations—an integral pillar of the U.S.-Pakistan partnership. They emphasized their mutual commitment to exploring new opportunities for collaboration that would bring long-term benefits to both nations.

Minister Aurangzeb acknowledged the United States as Pakistan’s top trading partner and conveyed Pakistan’s intention to expand cooperation in key sectors including information technology, agriculture, and minerals, in addition to existing trade channels.

The dialogue concluded on a positive note, with both sides expressing confidence that ongoing trade negotiations would lead to meaningful outcomes that support economic growth and development for both countries.
