Pakistan, Iran Aim to Boost Bilateral Trade to $10 Billion
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday announced that both Pakistan and Iran are committed to enhancing their bilateral trade volume to $10 billion at the earliest.
Speaking at a joint press stakeout with Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, the Prime Minister stated that both nations had signed a series of documents aimed at formalizing agreements to unlock their trade potential. Delegations from both sides will hold in-depth discussions to push this agenda forward.
The two leaders reviewed a wide range of topics including economic cooperation, religious and cultural ties, and strategic collaboration. The Prime Minister also expressed appreciation for the Iranian president’s warm sentiments towards the people of Pakistan.
Referring to recent geopolitical tensions, PM Sharif condemned Israel’s unprovoked aggression against Iran in June, which was denounced not just by the government, but by all 240 million citizens of Pakistan. He also extended condolences over the martyrdom of Iranian generals, scientists, and civilians, praising Iran’s brave and wise response.

President Pezeshkian concluded by expressing his happiness at visiting what he called his “second home” and thanked the Pakistani government for their warm hospitality.
