Controversial real estate tycoon Malik Riaz has warned that Bahria Town may be forced to completely shut down its operations across Pakistan due to mounting pressure from law enforcement and financial authorities.

In a post shared on platform X, Riaz revealed that Bahria Town is facing severe disruptions after dozens of staff members were arrested, all company bank accounts were frozen, and staff vehicles were seized. These actions, he stated, have brought daily operations to a standstill.

“Our cash flow has collapsed. We can no longer deliver basic services, nor can we pay salaries to our tens of thousands of employees,” he stated. “We are just one step away from a complete shutdown of Bahria Town across Pakistan. The situation is deteriorating by the minute,” he added.

Earlier on Tuesday, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) announced its plan to auction several high-value properties owned by Malik Riaz on August 7, 2025. The move comes amid ongoing investigations and intensified scrutiny of his assets and business dealings.
