Heavy rains and severe flooding have disrupted telecom services across Pakistan, impacting thousands of sites, according to officials from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).

As of September 2025, a total of 4,349 sites were affected nationwide. Of these, 4,137 have already been restored, while 212 remain out of service, all of which are located in Punjab. Restoration efforts are facing delays due to electricity outages and power supply issues caused by high water levels.

The PTA, working closely with telecom operators, is taking urgent steps to restore services and maintain mobile and internet connectivity in flood-hit areas. The National Emergency Telecommunication Coordination Centre is monitoring the situation in real time to support quick response and recovery.

Officials confirmed that overall mobile and internet services remain largely functional across the country, with operators ensuring priority access for users. The remaining affected sites are expected to be restored once floodwaters recede and power stability improves.
