Police have confirmed that a young man in Karachi was kidnapped and assaulted after posting an advertisement for his mobile phone on OLX.
The Incident
The crime took place in the Azizabad area of District Central, where suspects posing as potential buyers lured the victim under the pretense of inspecting the device.
The victim, identified as Saad Younis, told investigators that the suspects forced him into their car and physically assaulted him. He was repeatedly beaten and struck on the head with a hammer, leaving him seriously injured.

The attackers falsely claimed they were taking him to the anti-corruption office but instead fled with his iPhone.
Victim’s Escape
Despite his critical condition, Saad managed to jump from the moving vehicle near the Garibabad railway gate. He was initially taken to a private hospital and later shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where he remains under critical care.
Police Investigation
Police said that a case has been registered at the Azizabad police station on the victim’s complaint. Authorities are analyzing CCTV footage and utilizing technical support to identify and arrest the culprits.

The incident coincides with the release of CCTV footage showing a cash van robbery at Kalima Chowk in Manghopir, highlighting ongoing security challenges in Karachi.
