Pakistan’s technology sector continues its upward trajectory as the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) announces major progress across certifications, training, capacity-building, and infrastructure development.
PSEB has successfully certified 40 IT and IT-enabled Services (ITeS) companies under the globally recognized ISO27001 and ISO27701 standards. Among these, 18 firms are based in Islamabad, 16 in Punjab, and six in Sindh, marking a nationwide push toward improving cybersecurity and data privacy practices.
In parallel, the board has delivered large-scale professional development under the Certification of IT Professionals Program, with 8,600 candidates receiving specialized technical training. These participants include 1,846 individuals from Islamabad and ICT, 2,450 from Punjab, 2,270 from Sindh, 969 from Balochistan, 893 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and 172 from Gilgit-Baltistan, reflecting broad national representation.
Capacity-building efforts have also expanded through the ICT Internship Program, which has placed 2,700 fresh graduates in internships across the country. This includes 1,517 interns in Punjab and ICT, 197 in Sindh, 170 in Balochistan, 612 in KP, and 204 in GB, helping improve employability and industry readiness.
To enhance the customer support ecosystem, PSEB has extended financial and technical support to 31 call centers to help them meet ISO 18295 certification standards. These include seven centers in Islamabad, 19 in Punjab, and five in Sindh. The certification aims to raise service quality, strengthen customer protection, and boost operational efficiency for both domestic and international clients.

Another key initiative involves PSEB’s efforts to facilitate the listing of Pakistani IT firms on the GEM Board of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX). By strengthening the presence of tech companies on both the Main Board and the GEM Board, PSEB aims to deepen investor confidence and enhance global visibility for Pakistan’s tech industry.
Additionally, PSEB has expanded Pakistan’s digital infrastructure through the establishment of 25 Software Technology Parks (STPs) nationwide. These include 14 in Punjab and Islamabad, four in Sindh, one in Balochistan, four in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and two in Gilgit-Baltistan. These STPs are designed to support startup growth, SME innovation, and the expansion of established IT companies.
With advancements in certifications, skills development, market access, and infrastructure, PSEB’s ongoing initiatives continue to strengthen Pakistan’s position as a competitive emerging hub for IT and ITeS services.
