The Pakistan Cyber Security Project Cost 2026 has surged significantly, with the National Telecom & Information Technology Security Board (NTISB) requesting a fresh allocation of Rs3.244 billion for the upcoming fiscal year to complete its flagship “Cyber Security for Digital Pakistan” initiative, bringing the revised total cost to Rs7.68 billion.

Originally approved at Rs1.798 billion in 2021, the project’s scope and financial demands have expanded more than four‑fold, reflecting increased infrastructure and operational requirements up to its scheduled completion in 2028. Cumulative spending on the initiative has reached around Rs1.22 billion to date, with roughly 75 % physical progress and 70 % financial progress achieved.

Expanded Scope of the Cyber Security Initiative

At the heart of the Pakistan Cyber Security Project Cost 2026 is the establishment of a National Computer Emergency Response Team (National CERT), designed to provide active cyber defence capabilities and strengthen cyber security governance across critical digital ecosystems.

The project also focuses on safeguarding national information infrastructure and government systems, developing a comprehensive information security assurance framework, enhancing global collaboration, and building robust cybercrime response mechanisms and regulatory structures.
