Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu released a video message to dismiss widespread rumours circulating online and in Iranian media claiming that he had been killed.
The video, shared on his official Telegram account, shows Netanyahu sitting at a café near Jerusalem while speaking casually with an aide. During the clip, he jokingly addressed the rumours while holding a cup of coffee, appearing relaxed as he rejected the claims about his death.
The rumours had spread rapidly on social media and Iranian outlets during the ongoing conflict involving Israel, the United States, and Iran. Netanyahu responded humorously in the video, making a pun about the word “dead” while saying he was simply “crazy about coffee” and about his people.

Israeli officials also dismissed the claims as misinformation, confirming that the prime minister remains alive and continues to lead the government during the escalating regional conflict.
Since the war with Iran intensified, Netanyahu has largely limited direct media appearances and has instead communicated with the public through recorded video messages and official statements. Wartime restrictions in Israel have also reduced public gatherings and media access in many areas.
The incident highlights how misinformation can spread quickly during periods of conflict, particularly on social media, where unverified claims can gain global attention within hours.
