In the current moment in time, the Huawei HarmonyOS is already available in the Chinese market across different devices. These devices of course include the likes of smartphones, smart home appliances and more. However, the brand has yet to release its very own OS in a more global capacity for its handsets that are based outside of China. However, that might soon be changing.

Indeed in accordance with what the latest reports are suggesting, a senior executive down at Huawei was recently interviewed. During this interview, the executive ended up claiming that the Chinese brand could end up launching its proprietary operating system for its global users next year, as of course the HarmonyOS is already available in the company’s home market.

At the current moment in time, more than 140 smartphones, tablets and smart screen devices and others have this OS at their disposal. However, thus far, its global roll out has yet to be officially announced. The executive further proceeded on to add that the current version of HarmonyOS has primarily focused just on the needs of Chinese users but has already been installed more than 100 million times. The company first unveiled the OS two years ago back in 2019 during its Huawei Developer Conference.

Last year in 2020, the HarmonyOS 2.0 was officially announced and it came about with a large number of improvements as well, along with of course the extensions of the list of devices that support the OS. Earlier in this year, the third iteration in HarmonyOS 3.0 came about and its first ever preview beta being set in the very first quarter of 2022. While the executive has of course hinted towards a more global launch, it’s still unknown whether the preview beta will also be launched globally or not.
