A number of features found in rival apps are being gradually added to WhatsApp. There have already been several Telegram-inspired features introduced to WhatsApp, and now the messaging app is taking a page right out of Google Meet’s book and adopting some features from it.
WhatsApp will soon allow you to schedule calls in group chats just like Zoom and Google Meet do. It was first spotted a few weeks ago in the WhatsApp beta app for Android, but it has now started appearing on the TestFlight app for WhatsApp beta version 23.4.0.75 for iOS.
Originally, WABetaInfo reported the availability of the feature.
In this screenshot, you can see that once the feature has been enabled for your account, there will be a new context menu that displays. On this menu, you will find an option for scheduling the group call, which allows you to name the call and select a time for the call to be held.

A notification will be sent out to all members of the group when the call has been scheduled, so they will be able to join the call immediately once it has been scheduled. As a matter of fact, it is imperative to make note of the fact that the group call scheduling feature can be used for both audio and video calls, depending on which call button you select to open the context menu.
As a result of this feature, it can be no doubt that group members will be able to plan their meetings and events well in advance. It ensures that everyone in the group is aware of the scheduled time, which allows them to prepare accordingly, without the need for additional reminders or reminders regarding the scheduled time. As a result, it can reduce the likelihood of missed calls or calls that are delayed.
As the feature is already in beta testing, it should not take long before it appears in the stable version of WhatsApp for Android and iOS, especially since it is only a minor development.
