A district and sessions court in the federal capital acquitted Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and several other leaders in two cases related to vandalism during a long march.
The acquitted individuals include Zartaj Gul, Ali Nawaz Awan, Faisal Javed, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Qasim Suri, Raja Khurram Nawaz, Shireen Mazari, Saifullah Niazi, Asad Umar, and Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmad. These cases stemmed from alleged violations of Section 144, with registrations at the Kohsar and Karachi Company police stations.

The verdicts on acquittal pleas filed by Imran Khan, Qureshi, and others were issued by Judicial Magistrate Shahzad Khan for the Kohsar police station case, and by Judicial Magistrate Mureed Abbas for the case registered at the Karachi Company police station.
Earlier this month, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) granted bail to PTI founder Imran Khan in a case involving £190 million. The division, led by IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq, issued the verdict and ordered Khan to deposit surety bonds worth Rs1 million. The decision followed a day of hearing arguments from both sides, with the bench reserving the verdict.
In February of this year, the accountability court indicted PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in the £190 million settlement case. Both individuals denied the allegations. Last year, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) filed a corruption reference against Khan, his wife, and six other suspects in connection to the £190 million settlement case.
