As conflict intensifies between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon, countries around the world have initiated contingency plans to evacuate their nationals. While large-scale military evacuations have not yet begun, several countries are arranging charter flights, and many citizens are leaving on their own. Here are the details of the evacuation efforts by various nations:
Evacuation Plans for Foreign Nationals from Lebanon Amid Escalating Conflict
Australia
Australia is organizing commercial airline seats for citizens and has military aircraft ready for flights to Cyprus. Evacuation by sea is also being considered, with around 15,000 Australians in Lebanon advised to leave while Beirut airport remains operational.
Belgium
Belgium has urged its citizens to depart Lebanon as soon as possible, according to local reports.
Brazil
Brazil has sent an Air Force Airbus A330 to repatriate its citizens. With 3,000 nationals requesting evacuation, the aircraft will fly 220 people out of Beirut twice weekly.
China
China successfully evacuated over 200 citizens, as reported by the official Xinhua news agency.
Canada
Canada is working with Australia on a plan to evacuate nationals by sea, with a commercial vessel set to transport 1,000 people daily.
Cyprus
Cyprus evacuated 38 citizens using an aircraft provided by Greece. An estimated 1,000-1,500 Cypriots reside in Lebanon.
Denmark
Denmark urged its nationals to leave but has not initiated an evacuation, as commercial flights are still available. Lebanese carrier Middle East Airlines is increasing flights to Europe to accommodate demand.

France
France has had contingency plans in place for months but has not begun evacuations. It is coordinating with Cyprus and Turkey and has a warship and helicopter carrier en route to the eastern Mediterranean.
Germany
Germany is continuing evacuations, flying out 219 nationals, including non-essential embassy staff, family members, and vulnerable individuals. The government is assisting other citizens seeking to leave.
Greece
Greece evacuated 22 citizens, alongside Cypriots, and has a frigate on standby for additional support. Citizens have been advised to leave Lebanon.
Italy
Italy reduced its diplomatic staff and increased security in Beirut. It urged citizens to leave and sought assurances from Israel for the safety of its peacekeepers.
Japan
Japan deployed two C-2 military transport aircraft to Lebanon, prepared to evacuate 40 to 50 citizens.
The Netherlands
The Netherlands is sending military planes to repatriate citizens. Two flights are scheduled, with space for individuals from other countries if available.
Poland
Poland flew several citizens, as well as nationals from other countries, to Warsaw. It is limiting staff numbers at its Beirut embassy.
Portugal
Portugal has advised against travel to Lebanon and evacuated a small number of its citizens.
Romania
Romania evacuated 69 nationals on a military aircraft, with over 1,100 citizens and their families registered at the embassy.
Russia
Russia began evacuating its nationals, with diplomats’ families leaving on a special flight. Around 3,000 Russians and citizens of the Commonwealth of Independent States seek to leave.
Slovakia
Slovakia plans to send a military aircraft to transport Slovak and other nationals to Cyprus.
South Korea
South Korea evacuated 97 citizens and family members from Lebanon on a military aircraft.
Spain
Spain is preparing two military planes to evacuate up to 350 citizens from Lebanon.
Turkey
Turkey is prepared to evacuate citizens by air and sea and is collaborating with about 20 countries for broader evacuation efforts. Approximately 14,000 Turkish nationals are registered in Lebanon.
United Kingdom
The UK has chartered several flights to evacuate citizens. On Wednesday, 150 British nationals left Beirut on a government-chartered flight. Britain has also moved 700 troops to Cyprus, supported by two Royal Navy ships.
United States
The U.S. has deployed troops to Cyprus in preparation for evacuating citizens. It is working with airlines to add more seats for Americans on flights out of Lebanon.
