TikTok has released its Q2 2024 Community Guidelines Enforcement Report, offering a detailed look at its content moderation efforts in Pakistan and worldwide. The report underscores TikTok’s commitment to maintaining a safe and inclusive space for users by revealing the number of videos and accounts removed for violating its guidelines.

Content Removal in Pakistan

According to the report, TikTok removed more than 30.7 million videos in Pakistan during Q2 2024 due to violations of community standards. The platform’s proactive content moderation approach is evident, with 99.5% of these videos being flagged and removed before users had a chance to report them. Additionally, 97% of the flagged content was taken down within 24 hours of identification, highlighting TikTok’s swift response to harmful content.

These actions reflect TikTok’s ongoing efforts to protect its large and growing user base in Pakistan, ensuring that inappropriate content is minimized before it can spread.

Global Moderation Trends and Technological Advancements

Globally, TikTok removed over 178 million videos in the same period, with more than 144 million of these being automatically flagged by the platform’s advanced detection technologies. TikTok’s automated moderation systems continue to improve, with the platform’s automated detection rate now reaching 98.2%. This enhanced technology allows TikTok to process an enormous volume of content efficiently, ensuring real-time moderation to safeguard users.

The report also reveals a significant reduction in the number of restored videos, with a 50% decrease compared to previous reports, indicating that TikTok’s moderation systems are becoming more accurate and minimizing wrongful removals.
