OnePlus is reportedly working on its first compact flagship smartphone, aiming to cater to the growing demand for smaller, high-performance devices. While compact smartphones remain relatively rare, the rising popularity of 6.3-inch flagships like the iPhone 16 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro, Xiaomi 15, and vivo X200 Pro Mini indicates a clear market for more portable yet powerful phones.

According to recent reports from China, OnePlus is actively developing a compact flagship equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. The phone is rumored to feature a 6.3-inch display with a sharp “1.5K” resolution, ensuring crisp visuals and an enhanced viewing experience. It will also sport a 50 MP main camera using Sony’s IMX906 sensor, promising exceptional image quality and clarity.

In terms of design, OnePlus has chosen not to include a periscope zoom camera, distinguishing this device from other flagship competitors. Instead, the camera module will reportedly follow a horizontal layout, reminiscent of Google’s Pixel lineup. Additionally, the phone is expected to include an optical in-display fingerprint sensor, though OnePlus is also exploring the possibility of using an ultrasonic sensor for improved speed and accuracy.

As the development progresses, more details are expected to emerge, shedding light on OnePlus’s plans to enter the compact flagship segment.
