OGRA Dismisses Strike Threat as a Misunderstanding

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) chairman has downplayed the strike threat, calling it a misunderstanding. He stated that dealers are concerned that oil companies may reduce their profit margins under deregulation. The committee has summoned OGRA officials and APPDA representatives for further discussions.

APPDA Criticizes Lack of Inclusion in Decision-Making

APPDA representatives have criticized the government for excluding them from consultations. They argued that a previous statement by the petroleum minister regarding partial deregulation implied that the decision had already been made and was only awaiting the prime minister’s approval. Additionally, they voiced concerns about profit margins and the deregulation of lubricants and high-octane fuel.
