Official Announcement on March 15

The revised fuel prices will be announced on March 15 and take effect from March 16. If approved, the new rates could be:

  • Petrol: From Rs255.63 to Rs247.63 per litre
  • Diesel: From Rs254.64 to Rs246.64 per litre

Factors Behind the Price Reduction

Industry sources highlight that the decline in global oil prices and domestic economic adjustments have contributed to this possible price cut. Meanwhile, discussions continue between oil companies and regulators regarding local refinery agreements, which could influence future pricing policies.

Despite these uncertainties, millions of consumers remain optimistic that the government will approve the new rates, bringing financial relief to households and businesses across the country.
