A powerful 5.9-magnitude earthquake struck Lahore and several cities across Punjab on Saturday morning, triggering panic as residents rushed out of their homes and buildings.

The tremors were widely felt in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Azad Kashmir, and surrounding areas, causing people to recite religious verses as the quake rattled the region.

According to initial reports, the epicenter was located near the Tajikistan border at a depth of approximately 90 kilometers. The earthquake caused no immediate reports of casualties or property damage, though authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant, especially for possible aftershocks.

Emergency services and monitoring teams are on standby as the situation continues to be assessed.
