Pakistani security forces shot down an Indian drone near Lahore Walton area on Thursday, as cross-border tensions between Pakistan and India continue to intensify. The drone, operated from across the border, was intercepted and destroyed swiftly. While no casualties were reported, a nearby building sustained damage in the incident.
In response, security was heightened across the city, and all nearby schools were closed as a precaution. Separate drone attacks were also foiled in Chakwal and Ghotki.
These incidents follow India’s recent air, missile, and drone strikes on various Pakistani cities that killed at least 31 civilians and injured 57 others, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

DG ISPR Lt Gen Ahmad Sharif condemned India’s actions, calling them cowardly and reckless. He presented evidence of civilian casualties and damage to key infrastructure, including the Neelum-Jhelum Hydropower Project. He also questioned India’s claims of targeting terrorists and reiterated Pakistan’s stance that it had no involvement in the killing of tourists in Indian-occupied Kashmir—a justification India used for its offensive, dubbed “Operation Sindoor.”
Sharif emphasized that India’s attacks, carried out while domestic and international flights were active in Pakistani airspace, posed a serious risk and represented a grave miscalculation.
