Pakistan Army spokesperson Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has accused India of spreading false narratives to hide its involvement in terrorism and military aggression. In an interview with an Arab news outlet, the ISPR chief said India requested a ceasefire after recent cross-border tensions, which Pakistan accepted to preserve regional peace.
Chaudhry stated that India has consistently tried to destabilize Pakistan by backing extremist groups, including Khawarij-linked militants and Baloch separatists. He condemned Indian media for blaming Pakistan for the recent Pahalgam incident without evidence, while India’s own Ministry of External Affairs later admitted the investigation was ongoing.

He added that Pakistan had offered to cooperate in an impartial international inquiry, but India rejected the proposal and instead launched attacks on civilian targets. Chaudhry claimed that Pakistan Air Force shot down five Indian aircraft and responded with restraint to further missile strikes on May 9 and 10. He concluded that Pakistan agreed to a ceasefire only after retaliating with precision, emphasizing Pakistan’s commitment to peace and active diplomacy.
