Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday issued a firm condemnation of Israel’s attack on Iran, labeling it a “highly irresponsible” act that risks plunging the already unstable Middle East into deeper chaos.
“I condemn, in the strongest possible terms, today’s unprovoked attack on Iran by Israel… This grave and highly irresponsible act is deeply alarming and risks further destabilizing an already volatile region,” the Prime Minister stated on X (formerly Twitter).
He also extended heartfelt sympathies to the Iranian people over the loss of lives and urged the international community, including the United Nations, to act swiftly to prevent further escalation that could threaten regional and global peace.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar echoed similar sentiments, calling the strike a blatant violation of Iran’s sovereignty. In a separate post on X, he said the attack had “shaken the foundations of international law and the conscience of humanity.”
The Foreign Office of Pakistan also denounced the Israeli aggression as “unjustified and illegitimate,” reaffirming its “resolute solidarity with the government and the people of Iran.”
A spokesperson emphasized, “The Israeli military strikes violate the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Islamic Republic of Iran and clearly contravene the UN Charter and fundamental principles of international law. Iran has the right to self-defence under Article 51 of the UN Charter.”
Top Iranian Military and Scientific Leaders Assassinated
In what is being described as a major escalation, several top Iranian military and nuclear scientists were assassinated during Israeli airstrikes.
Citing The New York Times, reports state that Israel targeted six military bases near Tehran, including the sensitive Parchin facility.
Iranian media confirmed the deaths of Major General Mohammad Baqeri, Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces, and Major General Hossein Salami, Chief Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), along with other senior officials.
Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who remained unharmed, condemned the attack, saying Israel had “unleashed its wicked and bloody hand” in a criminal act against Iran and promised a “crushing response.”
Meanwhile, the United States stated it had no involvement in the operation, although analysts warn that the strike could lead to a significant escalation in regional tensions.
