The Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) announced on Thursday that Tarbela Dam has reached its maximum conservation level of 1,550 feet, with a total storage capacity of 5.7268 million acre-feet (MAF).

According to a WAPDA spokesperson, the Indus River’s inflow at Tarbela was recorded at 268,300 cusecs, while the outflow was measured at 238,900 cusecs.

🏞️ Water Levels at Major Reservoirs

At Mangla Dam, the water level has risen to 1,217.45 feet, which is approximately 74.5% of its maximum capacity of 1,242 feet. The dam is currently storing 5.423 MAF of water.

  • Inflows from the Jhelum River: 38,600 cusecs
  • Outflows: 7,000 cusecs

At Chashma Barrage, inflows reached 403,500 cusecs, while outflows stood at 351,600 cusecs. The reservoir is holding 0.094 MAF of water.

In total, Pakistan’s national water reserves have now reached 11.245 MAF.

🌊 Flood Situation Across the Country

Current flood reports indicate:

  • High flood levels at Guddu Barrage
  • Medium flood levels at Taunsa and Sukkur
  • Low flood conditions at Kalabagh and Chashma
  • Below low flood threshold downstream of Kotri Barrage

Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely as water levels remain dynamic across the country’s major rivers and reservoirs.
