The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has offloaded old IMEI records from the Device Identification, Registration and Blocking System (DIRBS) in a move aimed at enhancing system efficiency and management.
The step will help both PTA and Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) streamline DIRBS operations and ensure more effective system management. Officials added that the initiative is also designed to encourage users to register their mobile devices by paying applicable FBR duties and taxes, contributing to a more compliant and sustainable digital environment.
