Pakistan Set to Launch First Lithium-Ion Battery Plant
The Pakistan lithium-ion battery plant initiative marks a major step toward technological advancement, as the country moves closer to establishing its first-ever lithium-ion battery manufacturing facility in Karachi.

The policy framework has already been forwarded to the Ministry of Industries and Production and will be reviewed by the National Tariff Board. Once approved, it will be presented to the federal cabinet and included in the Budget 2026–27.
The policy also proposes reduced import duties on components required for battery manufacturing, encouraging investment in the sector.
