Pakistan captain Babar Azam has returned to the top five on the ICC Test batter rankings following seeing a dramatic rise in the rankings of today.
Babar has now surpassed Travis Head, Rohit Sharma and Dimuth Karunaratane. Babar is now ranked 5th , with 799 rating points. This follows a record-breaking effort of 196 points to stop the second test game with Australia on a difficult surface in Karachi.
Babar beat Virat Kohli on Wednesday, when Babar moved up from 9th to 8th place, beating Virat Kohli, the ex- Indian captain.

The top-ranked Test player is still Australia’s Marnus Labuschagne with 916 rating points. He is next is the English’s Joe Root, with 879 as well as the Australian’s Steve Smith, with 857 rating points.
