Cement dispatches in Pakistan witnessed a robust 30.1% year-on-year (YoY) growth in July 2025, reaching 4.0 million tons compared to 3.1 million tons in July 2024. This growth was largely driven by increased domestic consumption and a sharp rise in exports, supported by the post-Eid normalization in construction activity.

Domestic dispatches rose 18.4% YoY to 3.0 million tons. Regionally, northern local dispatches were up 12.3% to 2.4 million tons, while southern local dispatches surged 54.2% YoY to 570,000 tons.

Export figures reflected strong international demand, with a remarkable 84.2% YoY increase, totaling 1.0 million tons. Southern region exports grew 73.2% to 776,000 tons, and northern exports surged 134.0% to 232,000 tons (from 99,000 tons in July 2024). Overall, total dispatches from the southern region rose by 64.6% YoY, while the northern region posted a 17.6% increase.

The industry operated at an overall capacity utilization of 57% in July 2025, with southern plants operating at an impressive 95% and northern plants at 47%.

Company-wise Performance (July 2025):

  • ACPL: Dispatches soared 129% YoY to 338,000 tons (Local: +58%, Exports: +206%)

  • DGKC: 70% YoY increase to 469,000 tons (Local: +22%, Exports: +193%)

  • POWER: 59% YoY rise to 203,000 tons (Local: +56%, Exports: +62%)

  • FCCL: 27% YoY increase to 489,000 tons (Local: +11%, Exports: +233%)

  • MLCF: 21% YoY growth to 311,000 tons (Local: +19%, Exports: +49%)

  • LUCK: 15% YoY rise to 798,000 tons (Local: +20%, Exports: +8%)

  • KOHC: 9% YoY growth with an 11% rise in local sales

Outlook:
The industry is expected to maintain strong performance in the coming months, supported by ongoing infrastructure and housing activity post-monsoon. Exports are likely to remain strong due to favorable clinker pricing, while local demand will continue to drive utilization, especially in the southern region.
