China has rolled out a fleet of autonomous mining trucks in Mongolia, marking a major leap in the automation of the heavy industry sector. The project is spearheaded by the state-owned Huanying Group, with Huawei providing the core technological infrastructure.
Smart Mining with 5G-A
The driverless trucks are powered by Huawei’s 5G Advanced (5G-A) network, enabling real-time communication, precision operations, and enhanced safety. A total of 100 self-driving trucks are currently active across various mining sites in Mongolia.
Designed for Tough Environments
These autonomous vehicles are built to handle tasks such as loading and unloading without human input. They are also engineered to withstand harsh weather and rugged terrain, making them ideal for remote mining operations.
