DLIMS

Residents across Punjab are facing delays in obtaining or renewing driving licences as the province’s official online portal remains inaccessible. The outage has disrupted a range of services, affecting users who rely on the system for applications, renewals, and status updates.

The DLIMS Punjab (Driving License Issuance Management System) website—normally used to apply for new licences, renew or upgrade existing ones, verify licence status, download e-licenses, and track progress—is currently offline without any official explanation from authorities. Attempts to access the portal result in an error page, leaving users unable to complete essential tasks online.

With the system down, citizens are unable to submit new applications, renew licences, download digital copies, or monitor application progress. The disruption is especially problematic for new drivers or individuals whose licences are nearing expiry, causing uncertainty and potentially delaying their ability to legally drive.

DLIMS has been widely promoted as a modern alternative to traditional, paperwork-heavy procedures, with the goal of reducing office visits, shortening wait times, and streamlining workflows. However, the outage has reversed these gains, forcing citizens back into uncertainty and waiting—precisely what the system was designed to eliminate.

Authorities have yet to issue a statement on the cause or expected timeframe for restoration, leaving users in limbo.
