Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan launched a scathing attack on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, comparing him to Adolf Hitler and accusing him of plunging the Middle East into chaos amid intensifying military strikes on Iran.

Addressing foreign ministers from over 40 countries at the emergency session of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) summit in Istanbul, Erdogan declared, “Netanyahu is pushing the entire region toward destruction just like Hitler.” He warned that Israel’s widening aggression—particularly the recent assault on Iranian territory—threatens the very stability of the region.

“The unity of Muslims is not a choice anymore, it is a need of the hour,” Erdogan asserted, urging Muslim nations to set aside their differences and unite in the face of escalating regional turmoil.

The two-day summit, called urgently to address Israel’s expanding military campaign across Gaza, Yemen, Libya, Syria, and Iran, has drawn strong condemnation from Turkish leadership. Erdogan reaffirmed Turkey’s solidarity with Iran, calling Iranians “our brothers and sisters.”

In a strong display of unity, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi were seen seated together during the summit discussions. Dar is expected to reiterate Pakistan’s firm opposition to Israeli strikes in both Gaza and Iran and reinforce Islamabad’s advocacy for a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict.

The OIC Secretary-General also spoke at the summit, condemning Israeli aggression and urging the global community to uphold international law. “Every nation has the right to self-defense,” he noted, referencing Iran’s retaliation against Israeli strikes.

Ahead of the summit, Araghchi accused Israel of intentionally derailing peace prospects. “Israel attacked us just two days before our scheduled negotiations on June 15. This proves Tel Aviv is not interested in diplomacy,” he stated during a press briefing in Istanbul.
