Popular British rapper and singer Central C has announced that he has embraced Islam.
The artist confirmed his conversion by reciting the Shahada during a live stream and revealed that he has also changed his name.
The 27-year-old, whose birth name is Oakley Neil Caesar-Soo, shared during the live session that he has changed his first name from Oakley to Aqeel following his conversion. Friends present during the stream congratulated him as he recited the Shahada.

Central C has not shared further details about his spiritual journey. However, some of his past social media posts with Arabic captions had sparked speculation among fans. Until now, he had not openly discussed his religious beliefs.
Central C gained global fame with his hit song “Too Much” released in 2023. He has millions of fans worldwide due to his unique music style and relatable lyrics.
Born on June 4, 1998, in London, Central C began his music career in 2014. He is considered one of the prominent figures in British drill and rap music. In 2024, he was recognized as the most-streamed British rapper worldwide, with his songs being played billions of times across various platforms.
